Too many programs in your Start Menu, it takes you too much time to find what you want, StartEx may help you. StartEx categorizes your program icons with different colors so you can easily find the program you need. It supports Drag&Drop so you can easily add program icons or arrange groups. It supports AutoHide, the StartEx button always hides itself unless you move your mouse around it.

8start Launcher is a free, art designed, fast, flexible and intuitive application launcher, you can organize shortcuts into groups and categories, accessed from the system tray. FloatMenu places a very small, stay-on-top menu on the Desktop which you can use to launch up to 66 of your favorite programs or folders. Left-click it to bring up a menu of selected shortcuts, right-click it to pop up the options menu. FloatMenu initially appears in the upper-right-hand corner of the desktop, but you can move it wherever you like, it has options to resize it, change its color, save preferences and position.

ReFiDel '98 will clean that irritating documents list of the start menu everytime you start windows. You can also run it whenever needed, for example with task scheduler. Now works on three platforms - Win95/98/NT, and even with user profiles.

This program puts all the items on your START MENU into a listbox; type the first few letters of the program you want (until the program name is highlighted) and then hit ENTER. This is generally much faster than hunting through your START MENU.

NoStart performs a simple modification to EXPLORER.EXE that removes the Start text from the Start button, leaving just the Windows logo.
