Zero Assumption Digital Image Recovery is a freeware data recovery tool, specifically designed to work with digital images. It allows you to recover digital photos accidentally deleted from digital camera memory. There exists a vast variety of digital camera and associated media types on the market, so it is virtually impossible to test the program with each and every hardware combination. Generally, the program should work with any media type (e.g. CompactFlash, MemoryStick, SmartMedia and so on) accessible by means of your operating system. You need the use your camera or the appropriate card reader you normally use to transfer images from camera to PC.

Select a folder and the program looks at all the files in it for the EXIF info which is put there by some digital cameras and includes a lot of useful information such as the time and date the picture was taken. The program reads information from the picture and adds the user-selected information in front of the file name. This way you can have many pictures from different cameras (and different names), that would normally be sorted by camera, and can sort them by time - year, month, day, hour, minute, second and the original file name of the image file.

This application compares photos by visual content (content-based image retrieval) in a directory/drive and subdirectories, not just file-compare but visual-compare. Use it when you have a lot of photos and you want to find duplicates, but it is possible that the size (width x height) of the photos are different.
