The "J" operating system is primarily intended for hobbiest programmers. I've attempted to lower the bar, so amateurs can contribute. I hope to recreate the dynamic environment that used to exist when the Commodore 64 was around and everyone was creating odd-ball software. Also Researchers--I'm sure many lab researchers still use DOS because they have to interact with hardware, which is difficult with Windows.

Quick Menu Builder gives you a quick and easy way to design and create a customized menu without programming anything. Create a CD menu, an application launcher, a Div-X menu, you create the menu like a skin, and you can assign an action to each button. (Explore folder, Execute program, Open Document, Play Sound, Link URL, etc.) The executable menu you create will run on every version of windows.

SoftPublish for Windows 9x/NT/2000 can help to distribute your programs or other web-relevant information. There are many smaller file archive utilities and link lists out there, but they are often troublesome, and take a lot of time to fill in the forms. SoftPublish was designed to bundle all the information about your software or your pages and put it at your finger tips. Just press a couple of buttons and paste the automatically generated information into any form fields.

AnalogX K-LOC Calculator can scan any number of files, any wildcard extension, and even recursively check subdirectories. It returns not only the total project K-LOC rating, but the average file K-LOC rating and total file size of the project as well!

This NT service instantiates any out-of-process server. This allows you to make any event driven out-of-process server, such as a Visual Basic ActiveX EXE, behave like an NT Service. By changing its registry settings, you can specify which server you want to start, how many instances to start, if and when to release it and start it up again. This software was partially written by Brian Quisling, partially collected from free samples. It is freeware. Program to make INF files. You have just to know how is made the base segment and all become very easy. This program also have others segments to insert (uninstall strings and key strings).

Handy shell extension for cleaning junk files from folder hierarchies - particularly useful for programmers wanting to clear out compiler intermediates. Just right click the folder, select 'Clean', and a dialog pops up showing you how much space you can save. Very useful and customisable too.
