Advanced Installer is a Windows Installer authoring tool which enables developers and system administrators to easily build reliable MSI packages. Advanced Installer creates a high level abstraction on top of the underlying technology. With a clean, simple user interface, each operation is logical and intuitive. Everything is done in the user interface, without complicated scripts to learn or arcane database tables to edit. It runs on Windows 2K/XP, and the install packages it creates run on all Microsoft Windows operating systems.

RedShift enables you to create a very simple, smart looking software installer in seconds. 1)Name your installer & choose a splash image, 2)Type or paste in your software license text, 3)Select your folder of files to be installed, 4)Enter shortcuts to your exe and help files, 5)Click 'Build'. That's all there is to it! RedShift builds a single, self contained executable file which you can then distribute. RedShift displays a realtime preview of your installer while you are working - saving you time since you don't need to keep rebuilding just to see if everything looks OK.

UninsHs is an extension program for Inno Setup, it allows you to add, repair, modify and remove support to your applications with minimal effort. It is very small because it is written in Assembly, readme file included in the package with full instructions on how to use UninsHs with your own application setups.

T@B Setup Compressor Compiler is a free, self-extracting, executable maker. It also allows you to specify which file should be launched immediately after the self-extracting executable is done decompressing/unpacking. This "launch" file may be any kind of file, including, but not necessarily an executable file.

HJ-Install is a freeware installer for Windows created with Internet distributed, CD-Rom, single-floppy and multi-floppy installations in mind, but it can also be used in network situations and as a stand-alone scripting engine. The current version can create install directories, copy files into them, create program-groups and items, copy whole directory structures, and interact with the end-user. If you are distributing a relatively small application, I'm sure you don't want a complicated huge installer which adds more than 1 Mb to your package! HJ-Install on the other hand is small and adds only 138 Kb!

In Java you can generate executable jar-files but most Windows users are only familiar with exe files. Moreover it is not possible to assign icons to a Java Archive. This program solves these problems by generating an exe, with an arbitrary icon, that starts the jar when it is launched.

AGIsBuilder is a program to create script files for AGInstaller © AGENTIX Software. Easy access to parameters and options, the program is multilingual (English and Dutch). AGIsBuilder is not a complete package for creating installations it is an addition to AGInstaller, and requires that AGInstaller is installed on your computer to compile and run setup files.

GkSetup is a Setup-toolkit for Windows that allows you to create professional installations for your software. The self-extracting single-file Setups are ideal for internet distribution. The easy user interface will reduce your support calls.

Funduc Software ZIP Extractor is a freeware zip self-extractor stub that allows you to create self-extracting zip archives that are run as an executable file. FS ZIP Extractor is used to modify zip files so that they can be unzipped without having any unZIP software installed. If a .zip file is made into a self-extracting .zip, the user can unzip the file(s) by clicking on the .exe. They would not need an unzip software installed on their computer.

Full source code is available, features include; Creation of shortcuts anywhere, including in the Start Menu and on the desktop. Creation of registry and .INI entries. Customizable setup types, e.g. Full, Minimal, Custom. Complete uninstall capabilities. Installation of files. Silent install and uninstall.

Infstaller is a tiny utility that performs one simple but very useful task for programmers: it automates installing software via INF files. If you spend a lot of time programming, you'll probably want to fork out the money to buy dedicated setup software; if you don't mind coding your own setup routines, however, you can create custom installations using setup information (INF) files. The major drawback in using an INF file is that your users need to know to right-click the INF file and choose Install from the pop-up menu to start the installation. But now there's Infstaller, a little program that automatically runs any INF file in the same folder. Thus to automate your setup routine, you just copy Infstaller.exe to the same folder as your INF file and have the user double-click Infstaller. You can, of course, rename Installer.exe to setup.exe or install.exe to make the whole process even easier.

My Inno Setup Extensions is an enhanced and free, but unofficial, version of Inno Setup. Inno Setup is a most excellent and free installation builder for 16- and 32-bits programs by Jordan Russell.
