Freeware - File Management - Change File Attributes

CROA - Clear Read-Only Attributes - is a handy utility that will clear the read-only bit of all subfolders and files in a specific folder, this is extremely useful after copying the contents of a CD to your hard drive.

Toggles the “HIDDEN” property of all the files or folders in a given directory. I use it to keep my desktop looking pretty but it could also be used to hide files for security reasons. Graphical Interface for choosing folder to use, alternate version available for hiding one file or one folder. Requires the .NET platform, will run on other versions of Windows if this is installed.

This application will change the attributes of all files in a given path. It will enter subdirectories and change the attributes there too! I wrote this for when I drag directories over from CDROMs. Since the copy marks the files as Read Only, I had to manually select the files and change the attributes. This becomes a problem when there are numerious subdirectories (as from a backup). This app solves that headache. Note: For Windows 2000 and later, this application isn't really that usefull since Windows now has the ability to apply settings to all files and folders below the one you select.

Utility to alter the time and date of one or more selected files. There's several such utilities available, but we've found most of them to be too large, too complex, or too expensive! SetFileDate is small, easy to use, and free.

DAE is an easy to use utility designed to modify the dates and attributes of a file or list of files. This program requires the VB6 runtime files to operate.
